The song is a musical interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen's melancholic tale, The Fir Tree, which in many ways is a story about the passing of time; rather fitting for a birthday, I suppose. I will be doing a concert for the First Lego League event in Odense November 24, bringing with me Olivia Obskur on extra vocals and synth, Alex Anarki on synth and Max Kaos on live hologram graphics. The concert is for the event guests only, and we hit the stage around 7:30 PM. The next day, November 25, I will also be DJ'ing as part of the event.
I will be doing a concert for our next Klub Golem event which is October 28, combined Halloween and seventeen years club anniversary. Danish ebm and industrial pioneer Leæther Strip will also perform this evening. I will be bringing Olivia Obskur on extra vocals and synth, Alex Anarki on synth, and Max Kaos as hologram VJ with me on stage for this concert plus lasers and light - and we also intend to celebrate a few fifty years anniversaries, planning a live rendition of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells Opening Theme which was famously used in the Exorcist, the album and the movie originally both released in 1973. We hit the stage around 10:30 PM. Moreover, I will also do a DJ set together with Olivia Obskur from around 01 AM in the night. Other DJs this evening are Sue She and Lærke Lømmel.

During the Corona years when concert activity was limited I spent nights programming three graphical text adventure games for the Commodore 64 for which I also composed music which SidWave helped track for the 64; the main theme can be found in the Music Section of my website. The games are now released on the cover disk of classic Commodore 64 magazine, Zzap!64. This was the leading Commodore 64 mag in the eighties and now they're back. If you want to support them or buy issues you can do so right here. Monochrome Tales is a collection of three graphic adventure games for the Commodore 64. The games share an overall approach in style and design - a use of black and white graphics throughout hence the title - but with different stories that are not connected. The games were all programmed on an SX64 using the GAC tool, primarily at night. The games are Dream Loop, Space Punk and Eighties Quest. Dream Loop is a strange tale in black and white, referencing Edgar Allan Poe's famous notion of a dream within a dream. The player is lost in reveries and must explore the dream world, solving puzzles of an often dream-like and surreal character, navigating strange corridors, snowy landscapes and dark forests. Space Punk will let you tour the galaxies with your space punk band, Alien Anarchy and play The Dying Star Club on Neubauten Minor, Purple Meteor Club on Lydon 56 in the Vivienne System and abandoned space station, Hagen DDR. Travel from planet to planet in your battered old UFO van, operate cockpit computer HAL64 and avoid the Space Cops. Eighties Quest - Ah, teenage life in the eighties! Visit high school or stay at home and play your Commodore 64. Hang out with the local goth girl or visit the comics store. Where did you put that favourite Depeche Mode tape of yours and how to beat the Pac Man hi-score at the arcade? It is all, as the saying goes, in a day's work in the eighties.
I decided to do a music video for an older song of mine, Twice A Screen Removed. The song deals thematically with the melancholy of internet communication, of always being twice a screen removed, but also has a darker undertone of online stalker mentality. This was the angle I went with for the video which, in a strange way, is inspired by the Julien Temple-directed video for Dexys Midnight Runners' classic eighties hit, Come On Eileen, a song I always loved. Now, I know the video is meant to be all fun and I am in no way offended but let's face it, Kevin Rowland's character is being kind of a prick to Eileen with his persistent calls of 'Come on, Eileen.' This made me think of how, in rock and pop music, we have accepted, unquestioning, for years and years, this idea of male longing for female object of desire - with often very little thought of whether or not said female object of desire is actually the least bit interested. This is the main idea behind my Twice A Screen Removed video which is a slightly surreal depiction of screen-to-screen communication, walking around with screens in something which looks like a silent movie of the German expressionism era, a (not so?) subtle way of hinting at how certain thoughts and ideas within pop, rock and music video language are perhaps a tad dated by now. Seeing how one of my all-time music heroes turns 65 today, I have uploaded a live video of our encore from Klub Golem Halloween 2022. The event had Stranger Things theme so we chose to perform a rendition of the classic Kate Bush smash hit, Running Up That Hill, the song being famously featured in season four of the popular TV series. Olivia Obskur does the lead vocals on this one, Max Kaos provides live hologram graphics while Emmelie Eddike and myself handle synthesizers, me adding a bit of extra vocals as well. Claus Corona is responsible for the live sound. When watching the video and Obskur's wonderful performance you will be surprised to learn she actually had something like a panic attack on stage right before this song which I found fitting in an almost uncanny way given Running Up That Hill in Stranger Things is a song used as protection against a demonic entity who preys on people with a history of mental disorders. We may look confident up on stage but really it is a bit like walking a tightrope every time. So once again, thank you for attending the concerts out there. I will be doing a series of four concerts as part of the HCA Festivals ten years anniversary, in Odense, August 24 and 25, presenting my HCA Suite live; musical interpretations of Hans Christian Andersen's darker tales: The Snow Queen, The Shadow, The Fir Tree, The Story Of A Mother, The Little Mermaid, and The Little Match Girl. The concerts take place at the venue Kulturmaskinen, and in collaboration with Klub Golem as well. I will be joined on stage by Olivia Obskur on extra vocals and synthesizer, Alex Anarki on synthesizer, and Max Kaos on hologram graphics. We also bring a multi-colour laser show, hologram screens with graphics prepared and updated specifically for the shows plus screens with illustrations made by Penelope Ramon. DJ SUe She will provide atmospheric music before, between and after the shows. Claus Corona will be handling the live sound. The concerts are free; however, those on August 24 are for schools/educations only. The August 25 concerts are free for all.

The live videos of Twice A Screen Removed and Ghost In The Machine filmed at our CoronaGolem Halloween concert 2020 have reached more than 25.000 views each on YouTube. Klub Golem was one of the few clubs of its kind that could host concert events during the Corona period. Thanks to musicians Olivia Obskur and Marie Makaber, to Claus Corona for the live sound, the venue Kulturmaskinen, the people who showed up for the concert and of course to you people out there watching the videos. My rendition of Klaus Nomi's Total Eclipse is featured during the end credits for Ina Lindgreen and Sofie Tønsberg's documentary Præst søger Paradis about feminist lightsaber-wielding beauty contest-winning vicar, Josefine Frej Mikuta. Yours truly remains uncredited, as does Mr. Nomi who originally performed the song and Mr. Hoffman who originally wrote it - but then again, so does Mr. Shostakovich whose music is also featured, so we are all in good company. My music is used in a scene near the end, depicting the Encore opera punk roleplay project I was involved in together with Maria and Jeppe Hamming.

I will be returning to Nakkefestival to do a concert on July 30 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the festival. Following the sad and unexpected news of the death of Depeche Mode's Andy Fletcher, I have uploaded a rendition of the Depeche Mode classic, Stripped, which I did a few years ago, featuring guest vocals by Marie Makaber and Mie Møgunge. Klaus Schulze, Vangelis, and Andy Fletcher all within a month - I feel truly shaken and saddened, important parts of my musical upbringing gone. Our crazy over the top operapunk experimental live roleplay concert project (!) Encore won the audience award at major Danish roleplay convention Fastaval 2022. I was never much of an awards kind of guy, but I suppose receiving a golden penguin by the name of Otto is not so bad after all as awards go. A big thank you to partners in crime, Jeppe and Maria Hamming, who came up with the original bonkers idea, got us on board and never gave up despite a bit of a pandemic and Cold War rerun, to Lene Frederiksen who helped with the costumes and drove us as well, to everybody who helped at Fastaval - after all, we needed to turn a parking basement into an underground club venue practically overnight - to all the players, of course, and a very big thank you to my musicians as well, Olivia Obskur and Emmelie Eddike. We filmed the concert parts, and I hope to put together a couple of videos at some point, especially since everybody was dressed in fabulous costumes looking like somewhere in between A Clockwork Orange and Liquid Sky! And perhaps best of all - it was great to be back in the magic wardrobe that is Fastaval again after Corona.

The video of the Commodore 64 Klub Golem demo I did together with Sidwave around Halloween 2020 has reached more than 10.000 views on YouTube. Made in the style of eighties 8-bit, the demo features graphics inspired by the black and white Klub Golem design look as well as a SID version of my song Zombiesjæler. Might there be any chance of doing concerts these days of Corona, safe ones, that is? Yes, it is entirely possible: provided the audience is already dead. On May 01, at midnight, I will perform a concert open only to ghosts at Odense venue Magasinet, which, like so many other venues and theaters, has its share of ghost stories. The living will have to wait just a little yet for live shows. There should be a few advantages to being dead, after all, and with my background in goth culture, it only seems fair I should do a little something for the dead. I have picked songs from my repertoire to fit the occasion, and for the show, I will be flanked on stage by musicians Marie Makaber and Olivia Obskur, both on extra vocals and synthesizers. I myself will handle vocals, synthesizers, and the Commodore 64. Furthermore, there will be neon lights and laser beams - a little effort is in order when planning to rouse the dead. Naturally, the three of us will perform a spiritualist seance right before the concert. The performance will be filmed, and it is the intention at a later stage to present video material from the concert online so that the fittingly curious can study what exactly is or is not caught on camera.
The concert is for the dead only and is dedicated to James Randi, who died last year. We hit the stage at midnight.

As a Halloween treat, I have uploaded a little Klub Golem Commodore 64 demo made by SidWave and myself - on the trusty old 64, no emulation. I'm doing a concert at this year's Alternativfesten in Sandviken, Sweden, on November 09. This is the second piece of the HCA Suite, which consists of The Snow Queen, The Shadow, The Story Of A Mother, and The Little Mermaid, and was performed as a concert series of continuous interweaving pieces at the HCA Festivals 2018. I will be doing two DJ sets for our next Klub Golem event on June 15. Yes, yes, it's my birthday today, and so I have uploaded a new track, The Quest, which I did a couple of months ago with the technical assistance of Mr. SidWave. The piece, which is instrumental, was done entirely on the Commodore 64, as part of an alternative Polterabend for my brother, a homage to the computer game music we grew up on as children, back when computer game music was actually made with computer sounds. I tried to compose a piece of music in the style of 8-bit pioneers such as Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway, Jeroen Tel, David Whittaker, Matt Gray, Chris Huelsbeck, and Ben Daglish, who happened to die the very morning after we'd finished the piece well into the night - so I guess this is a humble way of saying thank you to a man whose music was the soundtrack to many nerd kids growing up on the Commodore 64. You'll find the song in the Music Section of this site or on my SoundCloud profile.
Just days after the big human rights demonstrations all over Denmark, I have uploaded a live video of my song Twist And Faust from Mangfoldighedsfest (Diversity Fest) in Odense earlier this year. This is one of my very rare concerts in broad daylight - be warned, you night dwellers and vampires. You can find it in the Video Section of this site or on YouTube as well.

I am doing two concerts for this year's Harry Potter Festival in Odense on October 20 and 21. We will present the entire HCA Suite in concert, music based on four of Hans Christian Andersen's darker fairy tales (J. K. On March 25, I will be doing a concert at the Zombie Festival in Odense, at Odense Music Library, which is the biggest of its kind in Scandinavia. Apart from the Music Library, Odense Film Festival, Harksen Productions, and local role players are involved in the project. From 07:00 PM, I will be doing improvised soundscapes for horror literature reading courtesy of Harksen Productions, and after our regular concert starting at 09:00 PM, there will be a movie night with a number of zombie titles starting off with Jonas Ussing's Danish zombie flick, Zombiehagen, presented by the director himself. 2016 meant goodbye to some of my music heroes, beacons who were there throughout my life, one of them of course being David Bowie. On my birthday I have uploaded, as a present, a video of a live performance of my song Everywhere at Wave Fest in Copenhagen 2016. To mark the forty years anniversary of one of the most important albums in the history of electronic music so far, Jean Michel Jarre's legendary Oxygene, I recorded a rendition of the Frenchman's biggest hit to date, Oxygene IV. Oxygene is an album very dear to me and I have a lot of personal memories connected with this music. Teaching myself to play the keys many years ago I would work my way through each part of Oxygene on a worn secondhand keyboard my father bought me despite having no money. Years later I would listen to the music sharing earphones with my comatosed father, hooked up to the life support machine - quite ironic listening to an album entitled Oxygene in that of all situations, waiting for inevitable death. When Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream passed on last year I decided to record a tribute for encore live use, inspired by how Tangerine Dream used to do concerts back in the day, fusing elements from various albums of theirs into new structures. This Tribute uses material from the albums Ricochet, Stratosfear and Poland, and what better date to put it online than on Edgar's birthday, with thanks for the inspiration. The past weeks I was working on a new song which I happened to finish January 8, David Bowie's birthday - and as we all know, just two days later he was dead. Like every other music lover I was of course shocked. I'm afraid I don't believe an awful lot in the occult or the supernatural but chance sometimes lends you a strange hand. My new song deals with feelings of loss and I realised the last lines went, 'I want to be an astronaut, in outer space. Go everywhere, 'cause you're not there.' A couple of years ago I made the soundtrack for a book, an anthology of modern Danish horror tales called Pix, out on H. Harksen Productions, dealing with various aspects of pictures. Danish libraries praised the book as well-written and atmospheric and my music as 'electronic soundscapes to perfectly conjure up dark moods.' August 20, H. 2015 marks the forty years anniversary of Vladimir Putin joining the ranks of the KGB, and in recent years he has done his bit in trying to resurrect the Cold War. As a little birthday present I have uploaded a new song of mine, a song which in many ways ties in well with the year that is about to end now. 2014 marked the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and this song, called Nostalgia, is all about nostalgic feelings for the eighties, the decade that almost gave us the all out nuclear war in the shadow of the wall that divided Europe. To fit the overall melancholic spirit I decided to record this song using only instruments of the seventies and eighties period. The song can be downloaded as mp3 from the Music Section of this site and the lyrics can be found in the Words Section, all free.

I have been interviewed about influential German proto-electronica band, Tangerine Dream, a band which, together with acts such as Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Brian Eno, and Yellow Magic Orchestra made up the pioneering blueprint of electronic music in the seventies and on. In November, I participated in the Tribute 1982 concert evening in Copenhagen, presenting a brand new nine-minute interpretation of Greek proto-electronica pioneer Vangelis' visionary soundtrack for the legendary sci-fi classic, Blade Runner. The movie is an all-time favorite of mine, as is Vangelis' score, so this is my very humble way, thirty years on, to say thank you. Thank you also to electronica artist Tonje Terese, who provides the haunting wordless vocals on my interpretation, and to Christoffer Bagge for a bit of guitar. My mini autumn tour continues with a concert marking the six years anniversary of our Klub Golem on November 23. The evening also celebrates the thirty years anniversary of the legendary home computer, Commodore 64, which will be a theme throughout the concert. Moreover, Copenhagen-based Press Play On Tape will also perform live, doing rock band renditions of Commodore 64 computer game music. Yesterday I did a double concert at the University Of Odense. We had no soundcheck prior to our first set because one of my musicians was on a train that ran late - a man had jumped out in front of it to kill himself. We struggled to get the sound right, but all this made me wonder about the actual importance of what we do, faced with something like this. Next part of my mini autumn tour is a double concert at the new Friday Bar at the University Of Odense where I will perform two free concerts, one at 5 PM and one at 7 PM. A select few songs will be performed in both sets, but otherwise, both concerts have individual setlists. In celebration of the thirty years anniversary of the Commodore 64, I will use old computers and machines from the university's collection as part of the stage show. My recent concert at Danish Synth Festival receives favourable reviews from Danish music mags Gaffa and Geiger. Gaffa describes my music as 'inspiring, melodious, upbeat yet of an often complex nature' and talks of a 'heroic performance' while Geiger describes me as 'the most interesting name, musically' and calls me 'the essence of stage presence', no less. I will be returning to Danish Synth Festival in Copenhagen November 28. After last year’s successful festival we now present two nights of synth music - other acts are: Altarian Project, Autotraxx, Corrosive Minds, Dezeption, Fake The Envy, MachineSoldier, Parzival, and Polyfon. I don't really know what to say about that, seeing how The King Of Rock and The King Of Pop ended up.

I will be doing a concert for a Rocky Horror Night in Aarhus September 12. The venue is Lobby and I will do a brief teaser around 8:30 PM before the screening of the classic cult movie. My song Ghost In The Machine is featured on a cd to celebrate the three years anniversary of our Klub Golem, along with tracks from other artists who have performed at the club as well as Martin Hall and Leæther Strip who received the Golem Award in 2007 and 2008 respectively. The cds were handed out for free to guests attending my Golem birthday concert June 20.

I have finished recording and mastering my cover of Kraftwerk's Ohm Sweet Ohm which I performed as encore at yesterday's concert at Kraftwerket, Copenhagen. It was an incredibly hot concert in a small basement club, and the sun had been busy all day. I'm mentioned along with a picture on legendary French electronica pioneer Jean Michel Jarre's official blog, April 11 entry. In a sense Jarre is 'my oldest musical friend' - it was his music that really introduced me to electronic sounds back in the early eighties when I was just a kid. Some friends and I did a long interview with Jarre last week and it can be found on magneticfields.dk, so far only in Danish, but we hope to put up an English translation too.

I'll appear in the TV-series Album on DR, national Danish TV, tomorrow evening at 8 PM, playing the glamorous role of a random punk at a 1980 concert. Yes, indeed, I'm a glorious extra. Arriving on the set back then was kind of funny - I'd been asked to bring in a bunch of goths and punks and tell people to look as early eighties as possible. Yet the production team insisted on giving most people new costumes, asking someone to remove their Ramones t-shirt because 'nobody knew them in 1980' replacing the t-shirt with a Slipknot badge. Ah yes, I sure remember Slipknot from 1980. Whatever happened to research?

I have been asked to do a speech for a demonstration tomorrow, Friday May 18. The demonstration will take place in Odense, Flakhaven, commencing at 4 PM and is against recent statements from the leading government party suggesting the right to unemployment benefits be taken from people with alternative looks such as piercings, dyed hair, dark makeup.
The May 2 edition of Danish newspaper Xtra features a picture of me accompanying a story about hair dye allergy. Which is kind of funny. Had I been allergic to hair dye I would have most probably been dead years ago.

I'm participating in a Klaus Nomi tribute project, undertaken by a group of Italian organizers called Res pira lab. My sarcastic song Ruth, named after Ruth Evensen, the woman behind the fanatical Christian sect Faderhuset that recently tore down Ungdomshuset, an alternative music venue in Copenhagen, has spent the last ten weeks as number one on the electronic music chart on Danish music site, mymusic.dk.
I will feature in a documentary on national TV2 about the recent demonstrations and riots in Copenhagen following the police storm on Ungdomshuset, a famous alternative music venue. I was supposed to give a concert there on March 02, but it was cleared by the police just one day before. The documentary is scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, at 8 PM.
I will be doing a concert for the new goth club Ballroom Blitz in Kolding. Pan And The G9 Slug will do a concert before mine, so be there in time for that as well. My music has received airplay on various radios lately. My song Ruth has been played on Ungdomshuset's PiratRadio69, on Roskilde Dampradio, and was on A-rotation on Odense Studenterradio. Furthermore, other songs of mine have recently been aired on American KGLT-FM and Danish Elektroland.
Ungdomshuset has been stormed by the police, and there have been riots in Copenhagen during the day. The organizers have decided to call off the shows since we lost our venue and won't be able to find a new one in no time. Sorry, everybody, but that's Denmark for you now; the police storming a much-respected concert venue to make way for a Christian Sect that preaches against homosexuals, Muslims, etc. Something rotten indeed, William.
At this very moment, the police are storming Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen where I was supposed to perform tomorrow. Nobody knows exactly what's going on right now, and the organizers told me there's a slight chance the event will be moved to another place. But right now, I can't say for sure. Check this space for updates during the day - I will let you all know as I learn more.

I have uploaded a new song named after Ruth Evensen, the spiritual leader of a fanatical Danish Christian sect, preaching against homosexuals, Muslims, etc. The sect has bought Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen because God told Ruth so - Ungdomshuset is a punk hideout and concert venue; acts like Einstürzende Neubauten have performed there, and now the police force is ready to wipe it. All because of Ruth. Which is why she deserves a song. A very mean one. The song is in Danish because this is very much a Danish issue.

In March 2006, new age pianist Yanni was arrested with the charge of domestic violence. I thought this made for an obvious clash-mix between him and Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up." All sounds and samples used stem from Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" and Yanni's "Reflections Of Passion" and "Santorini."
